Historic First: Rashtrapati Bhavan to Host Wedding Ceremony

In a groundbreaking first, Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, is set to host a wedding ceremony on February 12, 2025. The wedding of RPF Assistant Commandant Poonam Gupta and fellow Assistant Commandant Avnish Kumar has been personally approved by President Droupadi Murmu.

Gupta, currently serving as a Personal Security Officer (PSO) at Rashtrapati Bhavan, has been recognized for her outstanding conduct and commitment. Her fiancé, Avnish Kumar, is posted in Jammu and Kashmir.

Poonam Gupta, originally from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, has had a remarkable career. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, a Master's in English Literature, and a B.Ed from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. In 2018, she secured the 81st rank in the UPSC CAPF exam and has served in challenging environments, including Naxal-affected areas of Bihar. Gupta also led the CRPF's all-women contingent during the 74th Republic Day Parade.

Active on social media, Gupta frequently shares her experiences and insights, inspiring many, especially women, to pursue their goals. Her Instagram account is filled with pictures in her CRPF uniform and updates about various campaigns she leads.
