After his owner's passing, Kurt was left alone in the house. Unlike other rescued stray cats, he didn’t run away; he kept waiting. For eight months, he was only visited to receive food and clean bedding. Nobody wanted to adopt Kurt until Courtney Burke noticed him in a Facebook post.

The American, who runs the TikTok account @courtniescats, admitted she couldn't ignore the situation of this pet. When Kurt came to her, he was in poor condition: suffering from an infection, with wounds on his face, and showing signs of deep distress. However, despite everything he had been through, Kurt quickly began to trust his new owners, especially bonding with Courtney’s boyfriend.
